Wow! What a fantastic museum! We had such a great time at the Frida Kahlo Museum in Coyoacan. Unfortunately, Jake got sick and stayed "home" with a fever and vomiting. We tucked him in bed, supplied him with 7-Up and left for a few hours to let him sleep. Though he isn't a particularly big Frida Kahlo fan, I think we may have to come back just to show him this amazing museum.
It's called La Casa Azul and it is extremely blue. It has the most gorgeous inner courtyard and garden and her studio is so beautiful! Everything is in English as well as Spanish so that helped us gringos out quite a bit. They also have the best audio tour we've ever done (and we've done more than I can count in our travels).
The Coyoacan neighborhood is, by far, my favorite area of México. It is so beautiful and much cleaner than the other areas of D.F. we've been too. You can't take the metro here directly; you have to take a bus, too, so we took advantage of still having the rental car and we want to come back this weekend and, hopefully, bring Jake.

There is a bathroom and closet in the house that Diego Rivera asked to remained closed for 50 years. They opened them in 2004 and found many of her dresses, some jewelry, photographs, letters, and some of her drawings—qué padre!
