We had a great day people-watching in Chapultepec Park. All the museums are free to Méxican citizens on Sundays, so the park was packed. It was really fun to see all the people out and about and it was a gorgeous afternoon.
One interesting thing the boys noticed were all the phone booths. As we walked to the park (it's only two blocks away), we passed more than ten pay phones. One corner alone had six. It seems like everyone has a cell phone, so I'm not sure why there are still so many pay phones. We recently tried to find a pay phone in El Cajon as we drove down Second St., Broadway, and then Mollison and we couldn't find one.
It clouded over and started to sprinkle at about 3:00, so we headed home for a very interesting evening of games in Spanish. We made a valiant attempt at Monopoly, but this wasn't a regular version; it had a weird electronic thing and you put the buildings in the center, but we were having fun trying to figure out the directions and read the cards. We ended up playing Pictionary, but Matt and I had to used a translator app some of the time to figure out what we were supposed to be drawing and we all had to guess in English or we never would have figured it out.
We had fantastic empanadas from the Chilean restaurant on the corner for dinner. Tomorrow we're headed to Puebla and Cholula. Both are supposed to be beautiful, so we're excited!
